The Federation Starship Bonchune, a Nebula class cruiser, attempted to prevent Romulan forces from stealing the experimental U.S.S. Prometheus NX-74913 in 2373.[1] In 2377, the Bonchune was part of a Starfleet task force that intercepted a Borg Sphere that emerged from a transwarp conduit near Earth; the Sphere was destroyed immediately after arrival in the Alpha Quadrant, revealing the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 within, making its safe return home.[2]
