Construction on the Federation Starship Monitor, a Bonhomme Richard class cruiser (a variant of the Constitution class), was authorized by the Starfleet Appropriation of Stardate 3220,[1] and commissioned circa 2194. The Monitor and her Bonhomme Richard class sister ships served throughout the Four Years War, but were all decommissioned and destroyed in weapons tests after the war ended in 2198 as part of Star Fleet's postwar demilitarization.[2]
