The Federation Starship Valiant, a Ranger class starship,[1] two years[Notes 1] into a five-year mission of exploration,[2][3] was lost in the vicinity of the Eminiar system in 2217.[1] The fate of the Valiant remained a mystery until the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 visited Eminiar VII on Stardate 3192.1. The Valiant and its crew were declared a "casualty" of the "war" between Eminiar VII and Vendikar. The ship was destroyed, and its crew killed[4] by the inhabitants of Eminiar VII.[5]
Notes
- ↑ Although the FASA supplement "The Federation" stated that the Valiant was in the final year of a five-year mission, Last Unicorn Games' "Core Game Book" and Decipher's "Starfleet Operations Manual" both establish that the Valiant was lost in 2217, and that the Ranger class was first commissioned in 2215, necessitating that the ship be two years into a five-year mission at most.
