This unnamed officer was assigned to the command division aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 in 2266. When the ship made first contact with the First Federation on Stardate 1512.2, the officer, an ensign at the time, paused in the corridor with several other crew members to listen to an annoucement by Captain Kirk.[1] On Stardate 1709.2, he was present for the wedding of Angela Martine and Robert Tomlinson, but the ceremony was interrupted by an attack by a Romulan Bird of Prey.[2] The officer, now a lieutenant, manned the navigation station on the bridge during an ion storm on Stardate 2945.7. Lieutenant Commander Ben Finney was presumed to have been killed during the storm, but it soon came out that Finney had faked his death in an effort to discredit Captain Kirk.[3] The lieutenant was again at the navigation station on Stardate 2124.5, when he relieved Lieutenant DeSalle while the other officer beamed down to the planet Gothos to search for Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Sulu, who had vanished from the bridge moments earlier.[4]
