Reference Stardate 2/1100 through 2/1112
  • RSD 2/1003 - 2/1103: Star Trek: The Animated Series occurs.[1]
  • RSD 2/11: After four years in Star Fleet, Fayel R'Zaad resigns. He is tired of the long patrols and the close supervision of his superiors. He also has inner doubts about his ability to fight Orions on sight; his own heritage is pulling him in a different direction. He craves more excitement, and he feels that he is qualified to command a combat ship of his own. Upon return to civilian life, R'Zaad is approached by "merchants" and offered the chance to command one of their ships currently operating within the Triangle. He accepts the command.[2]
  • RSD 2/11: Lieutenant j.g. Joshua Scott attends Department School with an emphasis on command and computer sciences. He is marked as a man with high intelligence and remarkable innate skills when it comes to choosing the correct course of action in difficult situations. He is also incredibly bland.[2]
  • RSD 2/11: Thadeus MacDonald and Kbarra become the first parents on Sheridan's World. They name their new daughter Ksanna.[3]

January

April

  • Stardate 7662.4/RSD 2/1104: The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is ordered to assist and recover vital data from the U.S.S. Hood NCC-1703, which has become trapped in the interphase. The crew of the Enterprise is able to retrieve the needed information, but the Hood eventually disappears due to the interphase disturbance created by the presence of the Enterprise. Intelligence reports later verify that the interphase phenomenon is useless as a weapon.[4][5]

May

July

  • RSD 2/1107: The Lafaq family in the Triangle sends a successful trade mission to the Romulans at H'lass, but a permanent agreement remains elusive. The Romulans want guaranteed delivery and the Lafaqs want a secure price. The size of the Romulan market continues to attract Orions to the Triangle.[7]

September

  • RSD 2/1109: A second treaty is signed by the Romulan Star Empire and the Klingon Empire. The Romulans gain bases coreward of the Triangle, and the Klingons gain a much-desired, mineral-rich planet in the Triangle itself. Both sides feel they have come out ahead.[8]
  • RSD 2/1109: By Star Fleet orders, Federation Genetics Research Station 17 (GRS 17), located on Aleph III near the Organian Treaty Zone, is closed. The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is ordered to retrieve all personnel and data.[9]
  • RSD 2/1109.30 (30 September): An abandoned Romulan planetary base is discovered on Eridam, a mining world near the Triangle, with its Romulan inhabitants wiped out by an epidemic disease known to affect Vulcans. No military information is gained, but personal diaries, children's books, works of fiction, and other non-military writings are recovered. This body of work, known as the Eridam Papers, adds much to the Federation's meager store of knowledge about the Romulans. The Vulcan connection is supported by anatomical drawings, by Romulan legends, and by children's history books. Romulan history and motivations become better understood, giving some basis for understanding what has been a "faceless" enemy. Based on the Eridam Papers, some political thinkers speculate that negotiation may be possible with the Star Empire, though others see no hope for negotiation and press for even stronger measures to curb what conservatives have come to call the Romulan Threat. The net result is both a stronger military presence along the Romulan Neutral Zone and near the Triangle, and a push to gather as much intelligence data as possible about the Romulans in hopes of making field commanders more aware of Romulan capabilities and tactics.[10]
