Stardate 4978.4: Con artist Harry Mudd returns, selling a fake love potion.

Captain Kirk discovers Harry Mudd selling a fake love potion to lonely miners on the planet Motherlode. Kirk rescues Mudd from an angry mob, but once aboard the Enterprise, Mudd persuades Chapel to try the love potion on Spock. Pursued by Chapel when the potion doesn't work, Mudd steals a shuttlecraft and takes her hostage. Spock experiences a delayed reaction to the potion, as does everyone else aboard the Enterprise, and enthusiastically leads a mission to rescue Chapel. After all return safely to the ship, they discover that, when the potion wears off, those affected hate one another for several hours. Mudd, back in custody, confesses to a number of other crimes and is sent off for rehabilitation.
