Construction on the Federation Starship Constitution, the prototype of the Constitution class cruisers,[1] was authorized by the Articles of Federation (Stardate 0965).[2] The Constitution boasted several new technologies, most notably duotronic computers.[3] on Stardate 2947.3, the Constitution was at Starbase 11 for repairs.[4]

The Federation Starship Constitution, the prototype of the Constitution class cruisers,[1] was commissioned in 2245.[5] The Constitution boasted several new technologies, most notably duotronic computers.[3] The ship's first captain was Fleet Captain Garth (aka Garth of Izar), who commanded the vessel until 2255.[5][6] The Constitution was then commanded by Commodore Darion Page, beginning in 2256.[6] In 2267, the Constitution was at Starbase 11 for repairs.[4] The Constitution was declared lost in 2269.[6]
