The Federation Starship Hornet,[1] a Constitution class cruiser, was authorized for construction by the Starfleet Authorization of Stardate 3220,[2] and was commissioned to Mark III specifications on Reference Stardate 2/0901 (January 2267). Invicta NCC-26246, discovered hull and engine components of the missing U.S.S. Menke, 280 parsecs from the Menke's last known position in 2/09, baffling scientists.[4]
