  4. 4.0 4.1 Although the Federation Ship Recognition Manual establishes that the Excalibur was scrapped on Reference Stardate 2/2003, this date conflicted with the Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home Sourcebook Update, which established that the Excalibur found the lost Republic on Reference Stardate 2/2304. The date that the ship was scrapped was adjusted to Reference Stardate 2/2503, just a few months before the Excelsior class U.S.S. Excalibur was commissioned, to resolve this conflict.
