Revision as of 21:57, 28 August 2019

Construction on the Federation Starship Endeavour,[1] a Constitution class cruiser,[2] was authorized by the Starfleet Appropriation of Stardate 3220 as the U.S.S. Endeavor.[3] The Endeavour was commanded by Captain Mary Anne Rice from 2251 to 2265.[4] In 2265, the Endeavour, now under the command of Captain Zhao Sheng, was assigned to Starbase 47 in the Taurus Reach.[5] Several months later, in early 2266, Sheng was killed during an away mission on the planet Erilon, and was succeeded by his first officer, Atish Khatami.[6]

The Endeavour underwent a refit to Mark IV specifications on Reference Stardate 2/1211 (June 2270).[7] In 2293, the Endeavour was on a deep space exploration mission when it was selected for the proposed Operation Retrieve rescue mission.[2]

Notes and References

  1. The "Star Fleet Technical Manual" listed registry of the Endeavour (spelled as Endeavor) as NCC-1716; the "Federation Ship Recognition Manual" listed the registry of the Endeavour (also spelled as Endeavor) as NCC-1777. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and the Star Trek: Vanguard novels, however, gave the registry as NCC-1895. The conflicting registries, as well as conflicts in ship's status information, have been disregarded.
