The Federation Starship Constitution, the prototype of the Constitution class cruisers,[1] was commissioned in 2245.[2] The Constitution boasted several new technologies, most notably Duotronic computers.[3] The ship's first captain was Fleet Captain Kelvar Garth (aka Garth of Izar), who commanded the vessel until 2255.[2][4] The Constitution was then commanded by Commodore Darion Page, beginning in 2256.[4] In 2267, the Constitution was at Starbase 11 for repairs.[5] The Constitution was declared lost in 2269.[4]

The Constitution saw combat during the Four Years War.[8] In 2209, the Constitution was at Starbase 11 for repairs.[5] The Constitution was placed in an inactive reserve fleet on Reference Stardate 2/1205 (May 2212).[9]
